Who doesn’t love cake?!
Cake Smash photography is a unique and fun way to create precious photos on your child’s first & second birthday. The session time is usually 3 hours. 2 hours of this is photography, the other 1 hours allows for outfit changes, naps and all the other things little ones need. After all, a Cake Smash doesn’t happen every day!
In the first hour we will provide a fun and interactive photography session with props, bubbles and a bath full of plastic colourful balls for your child to play and have fun. We also recommend bringing your childs favourite toy, but this is just the warm up!
The second hour is the messy part! We will record your child’s hilarious expressions as they are allowed to get messy grabbing, squishing and eating the cake. A Cake Smash is guaranteed to make your little one break out into giggles and smiles! And don’t worry, experience tells me you’ll probably be getting your hands dirty in this too.
After the session, I’ll edit your photo’s ready for you to view, usually 1-2 weeks after the session itself. From there, choose your favourite photo and we will produce an 8x10 ” print as part of your package.
We recommend the shoots for ages one, two & three when the children’s innocent reactions to the Cake Smash are at their most priceless, but I’ve been asked to do 30th birthday cake smashes!
We will provide the props and bunting but we don’t provide outfits.
These are answers to some frequently asked questions. We hope you find this helpful. Feel free contact us here if you can’t find the answer here.
Do I need to pay a deposit?
Yes. The deposit is 50% of the total booking
When is the balance due?
The final balance is due on the day of the photographs being taken.
Do you provide the cake?
A cake can be provided for £20, or you can bring your own. If you chose to add the personalised giant cup cake, we source these from a local bakery. As well as supporting local businesses, we can offer a greater number of options in terms of colours and flavours as well as being able to cater to special dietary requirements.
Do you offer mobile cake smash packages?
Yes, however as this involves more time and travel costs, the pricing is different to account for this. If you would prefer me to come to you, get in touch with your requirements and we’ll work it out.
My child has Autism, can I still have a session?
Whilst we don’t have any formal training, we all have experience of working with children with Autism. We understand patience is the key, and do everything in our power to achieve a relaxed environment with stunning natural shots.
